Respecting the environment is extremely important to us at AC Printing. Some of the steps we are taking to lessen our impact on the environment are:
100% of our in-house paper is FSC®-certified.
What does this mean: FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Established in 1993 in response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide. FSC provides internationally recognized standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies, organizations and communities interested in responsible forestry. In order to use the FSC logo as an “environmental claim” on paper, the product must have flowed through the FSC “Chain of Custody” from the FSC-certified forest, to a paper manufacturer.
When possible we always direct our clients to use this for additional cost savings and thus contributing in our efforts in helping the environment.
Our inks are 100% soy based reducing our company’s carbon footprint. They are naturally low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and their usage lowers the emissions that cause air pollution. Soy ink is a helpful component in paper recycling too, as they can be removed much easier than oil-based ink from the paper during the bleaching process. Excess paper and inks are recycled weekly. We also use FSC Certified paper as much as possible and whenever requested.
AC printing is committed to maintaining compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. We abide by all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations applicable to us, including all labor and immigration laws. We review our environmental and sustainability issues on an ongoing basis and have committed ourselves to making continuous improvement through employee training, employee feedback, customer interaction, vendor cooperation, and production process evaluation.
Excess paper is recycled weekly. Inks and aluminum plates are recycled monthly. Energy Efficient HVAC systems and LED lights through out the plant reduce energy consumption and minimize heat generation.
Some of our other efforts include reducing electricity consumption through energy-efficient HVAC systems that were upgraded in 2017 and the recent upgrade of our heat-set web-press to a LED UV system resulting in saving 60% less power consumption for curing.
